Avego's Network Operations Center
Avego's centralized network operations
center (NOC) is responsible for monitoring the use of Avego's
products, ensuring network reliability and providing detailed
reports to customers.
The NOC will also generate messages for users of AvegoTM Shared Transport,
to inform them about new service availability in their area.
Robbie O'Sullivan recently joined Avego as the manager of
Avego's NOC and its four-person staff.
Already we have seen ticketing volumes grow from tens of
thousands of dollars in January to hundreds of thousands of
dollars, said Robbie. This is projected to reach a couple of
million dollars in volume by the end of the year. To handle this
exploding volume, we need to beef up our servers and management
processes.
Avego's usage volume has been growing on average by 50%
month-on-month. The number of iPhone users is on track to reach
tens of thousands by the end of the year.
For further information about the NOC, you can e-mail Robbie at .

Funding for Futurefleet
On April 13th President Obama and Vice
President Biden visited the Department of Transportation to
announce the 2,000th transportation project to be granted funding
under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 2009 (ARRA) in
just 41 days.
Transit agencies can now apply for grants using ARRA funding to
implement FuturefleetTM,
Avego's real-time management system for passenger transit
operators.
As an ITS technology for transit, FuturefleetTM is an
eligible expenditure under the Transit Capital Assistance for
Urbanized and Non-Urbanized Areas. FTA grants under the ARRA are
100% federally-funded, with no local match required.
Additionally, funding can be sought through the Department of
Energy's energy and environment block grant program. The ARRA
included $2.8 billion in formula funds to cities, counties, and
states to help reduce energy consumption. FuturefleetTM
is an eligible use of those funds. More information about this
program can be found here.
The stimulus package also included over $400 million discretionary
grants for this program.
Recipients of Federal-aid highway funds may also flex their
highway dollars received under ARRA for use on transit projects
such as FuturefleetTM.
Designed to suit needs ranging from a small coach fleet operator
to a large public transit authority with thousands of vehicles,
FuturefleetTM is a complete end-to-end solution that
provides a comprehensive range of features for enhancing operations
services, passenger
services and in-vehicle
services.
FuturefleetTM is available at breakthrough pricing
levels up to ten times more affordable than previously available
to the industry.
If you are interested in partnering with Avego to secure any of
the funding described above, please contact Avego's Director of
