Recording a route.

Before you start sharing your vacant seats, you must first have successfully recorded a route that you regularly drive, such as from your place of work to your home, or from your home to the airport. Recording a route on the iPhone app is simple:

• Log in to the Avego^TM iPhone app and select "Drive".
• If you have registered more than one vehicle, select a vehicle from the vehicles list.
• Select the "Record New Route" button.
• Enter a name for your route, e.g. "Home to Work".
• Start driving. Your route will be automatically recorded using iPhone GPS technology.
• When you reach your destination, pull over and park.
• Select "Save" to save your route.

Tip: Your route will only be successfully recorded if there are at least two stops along the route. You can easily create stops along your route by following the steps below.

Creating Stops

Avego stops are the places along your routes where you will stop to pick up riders. You can create new stops at places along your route that you think would make a safe and convenient pick-up point for riders.

• When you find a good pick-up location, pull over and park. You cannot suggest a stop while your vehicle is moving.
• Select the "Suggest Stop" button, enter a name that will be easily recognizable to others (e.g. "City Hall") and press "Suggest".
• Select "Yes" to enable the stop for users going any direction or "No" to only enable it for users traveling your current direction.
• The stops you create will be available to other drivers and passengers, so the more stops that are created along a route, the more likely it is that you will receive requests for transport.

Tip: If the stops you suggested do not appear when you next drive your saved route, this may be caused by a weak GPS signal. To activate the stops, you will need to drive the route again.

Driving with Ghosts

You can experience exactly how the system works by using ghost riders. Ghost riders are simulated riders that request transport as you drive along your saved routes. You can pick-up, drop-off and rate ghost riders as you would with real people. Ghost names always end in "RIP".

• Select your previously saved route and start driving.
• Select "Yes" when asked to offer a lift to a "passenger up-ahead".
• When prompted, pull over and park at the pick-up stop.
• Each rider you pick up must be authenticated by entering their auto-generated PIN. Enter "7777" for any ghost that you pick up.
• Continue driving.
• When prompted, pull over and press "OK" to drop off the ghost.
• Continue driving to your destination location and park.
• Rate each rider that you picked up from 1 star to 5 stars. If you select 1 star, you will never be matched with that ghost rider again.

Tip: Make sure that the "Simulated Riders" option is set to "On" in your settings screen. To access the settings screen, select "Options" from the main menu screen and then select "Settings".
