Real-Time Passenger Information (RTPI)
When your vehicles are equipped with Futurefleet's GPS-enabled in-vehicle hardware, you can publish real-time departure and arrival times based on the live movements of your vehicles. FuturefleetTM makes it easy for your customers to access this information in a number of ways:
- A range of hardware devices is available for displaying RTPI at stop locations, depots and on on-board any vehicle.
- You can quickly customize and install a departure board plug-in for your website.
- Passengers can access RTPI via SMS from any mobile phone.
- Passengers can receive RTPI by e-mail.
- Passengers can phone a fully automated interactive voice response (IVR) system.
Now your customers can avail of the same RTPI accuracy that has been made available by the airline industry to their customers. Precise RTPI enables your customers to make more efficient decisions about their journeys, thereby increasing your ridership numbers and reducing the number of cars on our roads.
With Futurefleet, your passengers can access reliable RTPI both before and throughout a journey, no matter where they are located.
The Transportal
The Transportal is a free plug-in for your website that you can quickly customize and install to provide your customers with full access to the most up-to-date information about your transport services.
Your customers can use the Transportal to quickly plan a journey, book tickets, browse transport options from any stop on your network, and view timetable information.
When you update any routing, schedule or ticketing information, it is instantly reflected in the Transportal.
Many of these features are available free to transport operators. If you would like to use the Transportal to more effectively communicate all of transport services to your passengers, just send us an e-mail and we will help you to get started.
Free Integration with Google Transit
With Futurefleet, you can quickly export all of your routing and scheduling content for integration with Google Transit, thereby making information about your services available to the millions of people who search for transit information via Google Maps.
Avego's rapid export procedure formats and validates your content as a Google Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) file, making it compatible with Google Transit.
Once your content is integrated with Google Transit, it is available in multiple languages to anyone who uses Google’s point-to-point trip planning feature in Google Maps.
This user-friendly tool can serve as a “discovery portal” for users unfamiliar with an area’s transit system, as well as an added convenience for season transit travelers.
Making your routes and schedules available via Google Maps can help you increase the exposure of your services, experience ridership gains and see improvements in customer satisfaction.
Avego is now offering its Google Transit integration capability for free to any passenger transport operator. Just send us an e-mail if you are interested in exporting your transport service information as a GTFS file.
